John Mills IV was a well-known photographer in the United States from 1935 to his death in 1990. He had a remarkable eye for pictures, and he could instantly pick the scene - the great photo - out of a complex and changing visual scene. Mills' still photographs are almost all black and white, and encompass an enormous range of topcs, from formal portraits to landscapes and industrial sites.
Mills' photographs rival those of some of the most famous photographers - including Edward Steichen and Ansel Adams.
